Seaspan is the largest independent charter owner and manager of containerships globally. We employ more than 4000 people at our offices in Hong Kong, Canada, India, China and Korea, as well as on board our large fleet of vessels ranging in size from 2500 to 14000 TEU. 



What We Do

Seaspan provides many of the world’s major shipping lines with alternatives to vessel ownership by offering long-term leases on large, modern containerships, combined with industry-leading ship management services. Seaspan Ship Management Ltd. has been in operation since 2000, and Seaspan Corporation has been publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange since its IPO in 2005.

We oversee and manage every aspect of the process from ship to shore. A conservative, strategic approach allows for measured and consistent growth, while a strong set of values governs the integrity of our everyday decisions.



Our Fleet

Our state-of-the art fleet of owned and managed containerships holds over 900,000 TEU in total capacity, including upcoming newbuilds, with an average operating vessel size of over 7500 TEU. Approximately 90% of our contracted revenues for these ships are from leading Asian liner companies. Our customers include COSCO, Yang Ming, Maersk, Hapag Lloyd, MOL, China Shipping, CMA CGM (CNC), MSC, K-Line, PIL and Simatech.

Seaspan’s fleet has been built to the highest standards at shipyards such as Samsung, Hyundai and YZJ, and our ships’ features include MAN B&W electronic engines, high-volume refrigeration container carriage capabilities, and efficiency-focused technologies.
