COURSE OBJECTIVE课程目标:
The aim of the BTM course is to ensure that officers are trained and prepared to respond safely and efficiently for controlling the bridge operations. A good bridge team management will enable the team to tackle unexpected events and reduce the potential confusion and hence minimize error. Bridge team that has successful completed this course will have good teamwork, good coordination, communication and capabilities of handling emergencies.
The BTM course complies with IMO Model Course 1.22 “Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork”. Participants who successfully completed this course will have gained experienced in handling ships under various conditions and will make a more effective contribution to the bridge team during ship manoeuvring in normal and emergency situations.
Upon completion of the BTM, participants shall be capable of:
1.Using the engines and helm for ship manoeuvring.
2.Understanding of the effects on the behavior of the ship wind, current shallow water, banks and narrow channels and condition of loading.
3.Having a greater awareness of the importance of planning in passage or manoeuvre and the need for an alternative plan.
4.Having a greater understanding and awareness of efficient bridge procedures and bridge teamwork during watch‐keeping and ship handling, in normal and in emergency situations.
5.Having a greater awareness and understanding of a good interactive communication style and benefit of building up a common shared mental model of the planned passage.
